Haichuan Zhang is a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, where he is a member of the Information Processing & Algorithms Laboratory (IPAL) under the supervision of Prof. Vishal Monga. Having recently defended his dissertation, he is set to graduate in May 2026. His research expertise lies in Machine Learning and Computer Vision, with a primary focus on image restoration—specifically developing solutions for image deblurring, dehazing, denoising, and image generation.

Before his doctoral studies, Haichuan worked as a science software engineer at the Institute of Multimedia Knowledge Fusion and Engineering after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Xi’an Jiaotong University. During that time, he proposed a Whole Slide Image (WSI) online annotation and analysis framework, which is used in the AIPath Dataset. He is passionate about using modern technology to solve practical, real-world problems.
